WHAT WE BELIEVE
Covenant Reformed Baptist Church of Tullahoma, Tennessee holds to The Second London Baptist Confession of Faith as a faithful summary of biblical teaching. All of our church officers fully subscribe to our confession of faith, and the church as a whole agrees to be taught in accordance with it. Charles Spurgeon said, “This little volume is not issued as an authoritative rule, or code of faith, whereby you are to be fettered, but as an assistance to you in controversy, a confirmation in faith, and a means of edification in righteousness.”
What to expect at our church: In our corporate worship, we praise, pray, preach, and partake:
Praise: we sing both Psalms and old and new Hymns.
Prayer: we corporately pray the Lord’s Prayer and a prayer of confession.
Preach: we teach through the Bible verse by verse.
Partake: we partake in the Lord’s supper each week, and we have a full meal after the service with great fellowship.
The Gospel: We preach the grace of God given to us in Jesus Christ alone. We distinguish between the law of God and the gospel of God: the law is the command of God, while the gospel is Jesus fulfilling the command of God in our place as our substitute. Romans 5:1 states, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Jesus Christ lived the life that you and I cannot not live, and took upon himself the punishment we deserve, as our substitute. And now because of what God has done for us in Christ, you and I can have peace with God!
